about the artist

Richard FriedbergBorn in 1943 and raised in Baltimore, Maryland the artist attended Antioch College and Yale University, before moving to New York City in 1968 to make sculpture and teach Fine Arts at Hunter College. His first one-man show occurred the following year at the Tibor de Nagy Gallery and his work has been shown in galleries throughout the United States and Europe. In addition to Hunter College, the artist has taught at the California Institute of Art and at Fairleigh Dickinson University from which he took early retirement as Professor of Fine Arts in 1985.

The artist currently lives and works on a farm in upstate New York and maintains a residence in New York City.
